The month of February is recognized as Black History Month. This is an opportunity for students and staff to recognize the contributions of Black Canadians past and present. It is also a time to acknowledge that Black History is Canadian History and must be recognized and observed throughout the year. The classrooms at St. Rene Goupil are filled with rich dialogue and conversations about the importance of Black History. Exploring history allows us to understand ourselves, alternative perspectives and narratives.
